The invention relates to the use of cannabidiol (CBD) and/or a derivative thereof, in the treatment of mitochondrial diseases. In certain preferred embodiments, the CBD, and/or a derivative thereof is substantially devoid of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Moreover, the present invention also relates to a composition comprising the CBD and/or a derivative thereof and to a method of treating mitochondrial diseases in a subject, comprising administering to the subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of the CBD, a derivative thereof and/or a composition comprising thereof.L'invention concerne l'utilisation de cannabidiol (CBD) et/ou un dérivé de celui-ci dans le traitement de maladies mitochondriales.
