Compositions and methods are provided for treating a patient suffering from a disease associated with endothelial dysfunction by administering to the patient a pharmaceutical composition containing an effective amount of a synthetic collagen binding peptidoglycan. The present disclosure, in one embodiment, provides methods for treating a patient suffering from a disease associated with endothelial dysfunction.
