A dry powder inhaler suitable for administration by pulmonary or nasal route, comprising a body (201; 801) of the inhaler and a cartridge (203; 803); the inhaler comprising: (a) a body (201; 801) of the inhaler comprising a mouth (802), a lower channel inlet (210; 310; 410; 510; 610; 810), a channel (208, 808) inhalation to provide fluid communication between the patient's mouth when coupled with the mouth (802) and the inlet (210; 310; 410; 510; 610; 710; 810) of the lower channel, at least one inlet (818 ) lateral to allow direct air admission from the atmosphere to the interior of the inhalation channel (208, 808); an opening (204; 804) of the body of the inhaler formed inside and defined between opposite upper (211; 811) and lower walls (812) and opposite side walls (814), said opening (204; 804) presenting the body of the inhaler at least one open end through which the cartridge (203; 803) can be inserted into the opening (204; 804) and which has at least one air inlet opening (815, 816) to admit air into of the opening (204; 804) of the inhaler body, a means (819) for guiding the movement of the cartridge (203; 803) into the opening (204; 804) of the inhaler body relative to the body (201; 801 ) and control its movement from a storage position to an inhalation position; (b) the cartridge (203; 803) being shaped to fit into the opening (204; 804) of the inhaler body and incorporating at least one compartment (205; 305; 405; 505; 605; 705; 805) of powder substantially cylindrical formed therein to transport a powder-based medicament, and at least one vent (206, 209; 306, 309; 406, 409; 506, 509; 606, 609; 709; 806, 809) inlet air; the dust compartment having an outlet (207; 807) that allows fluid communication with the body inhalation channel (208; 808) through the channel inlet (210; 310; 410; 510; 610; 810) lower body and at least one spike (820) to fit with the body guide displacement means (819); wherein the cartridge (203; 803) can slide into the body (201;
