the present invention describes the production of elisa-type test antigen for detecting antibodies against the chicken infectious bronchitis virus (vbig). said antigen is the nucleocapsid (n) protein of the massachusetts strain of chicken infectious bronchitis virus produced recombinantly in a prokaryotic system. the recombinant protein of the present invention recognizes antibodies from birds vaccinated and / or infected with the virus, and can be used both for diagnosis and for vaccine monitoring. the production of the antigen in escherichia coli resulted in a soluble protein, ensuring its conformation after the purification process. satisfactory results were obtained when the said antigen was used in an elisa-type test, where only a portion of the infectious bronchitis virus may be able to detect antibodies in bird sera, being an alternative that aims to reduce the cost of diagnosis and vaccine monitoring .a presente invenção descreve a produção de antígeno para teste do tipo elisa para detecção de anticorpos contra o virus da bronquite infecciosa das galinhas (vbig). o referido antígeno é a proteína do nucleocapsídeo (n) da cepa massachusetts do vírus da bronquite infecciosa das galinhas produzido de forma recombinante em sistema procarioto. a proteína recombinante da presente invenção reconhece anticorpos de aves vacinadas e/ou infectadas com o vírus, podendo ser utilizado tanto para diagnóstico como para monitoramento vacinal. a produção do antígeno em escherichia coli resultou em uma proteína solúvel, garantindo sua conformação após o processo de purificação. resultados satisfatórios foram obtidos quando se utilizou o referido antígeno em teste do tipo elisa, onde apenas uma porção do vírus da bronquite infecciosa pode ser capaz de detectar anticorpos em soros de aves, sendo uma alternativa que visa a diminuição do custo do diagnóstico e monitoramento vacinal.
