The device (30) includes a portal component (32) installed in a mouth (50) of the patient in place of or in association with a natural tooth, and a removable cap (34) resembling a natural tooth. The portal component (32) is connectable to an implanted catheter (36) which may extend from the device (30) into the body via vasculature associated with the periodontal ligament.
