Device for emitting electromagnetic therapy to the skin of a user, comprising radiation: a) a head (22) having at least a front plate (23) for application to the skin .b) a power source (30) housed in the head for emitting a desired wavelength of electromagnetic radiation c) a material dispensing system (340) for dispensing a desired material (38) for use with the device d) a device temperature detection (332) for delivering temperature data to said control mechanism where the control mechanism can adjust the energy source when the received temperature data are outside the limits previously specified. e) a control mechanism (34) for controlling the energy source and the material dispensing system, wherein the control mechanism includes a processor (44) and a storage device (308) the storage device is operable to maintain regimen data the processor is operable to control the energy source and the material dispensing system in accordance with the rate data and wherein the face plate (23) is removable and interchangeable and includes an identification device that communicates the identity of the faceplate to the control mechanism (34).1.
