To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of improving stability of a directional coupler.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprises: a first directional coupler 110, a second directional coupler 120, an acquisition unit, and a calculation unit. The first directional coupler and the second directional coupler are connected in series. A transmission line between an output port of the first directional coupler and an input port of the second directional coupler is set so that a phase of output impedance of the first directional coupler differs from a phase of output impedance of the second directional coupler. The acquisition unit acquires output from a first coupling port and a second coupling port from each of the first directional coupler and the second directional coupler.
