The present invention relates to an anti-toxoplasma composition comprising an extract of Plantago asiatica as an active ingredient, wherein the extract of Plantago asiatica has an antiplasmodial effect against toxoplasma and thus can be used in the prevention, alleviation or treatment of toxoplasmosis. The anti-toxoplasma composition comprising the extract of Plantago asiatica as an active ingredient is characterized by containing 4-500 g/ml of the extract of Plantago asiatica when 410^4 cells/well of HeLa cells is infected with 210^5 cells/well of Toxoplasma gondii.본 발명은 차전초(Plantago asiatica L.) 추출물을 유효 성분으로 함유하는 항톡소플라즈마 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 차전초 추출물은, 톡소플라즈마에 대한 항원충 효능을 보유하고 있어 톡소플라즈마 감염증의 예방, 개선 또는 치료에 사용될 수 있다. 본 발명에 따른 차전초 추출물을 유효 성분으로 함유하는 항톡소플라즈마 조성물은, 4×104 cells/well의 헬라 세포에 톡소포자충 2×105 cells/well 비율로 감염시를 기준으로, 차전초 추출물을 4~500 ㎍/㎖ 함유하는 것을 기술적 특징으로 하고 있다.
