PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a weight balance which allows a work to be easy in an electric portable work machine in which an elongate shaft is used.SOLUTION: A front unit 20 is arranged at a front end side of a shaft 11 elongated in a cross direction, and a cutter 21 is mounted to a rotary shaft driven in the front unit 20. The rotary shaft is driven by a disc motor provided in the front unit 20. A rear unit 30 is arranged at a rear end side of the shaft 11. An engine that is covered by a resin housing is provided at the rear unit 30. An operation part 40 is mounted to the shaft 11 in front of the rear unit 30. There is provided in front of the operation part 40, a power source part 50 to which a battery 51 serving as a power source of the disc motor is mounted in the shaft 11.
