The present invention relates to compositions for preventing or treating the symptoms of infections caused by Flavivirus, such as Dengue. The compositions comprise a combination of a zinc compound, which can be chelated and/or non-chelated with the flavonoid quercetin or analogues and derivatives thereof, with other components also being optionally included in the formulation according to the recommendation, age group, form of presentation, existing conditions and weight. Antiviral activity is achieved by means of the synergistic effect of quercetin and zinc, which act via various mechanisms of action, preventing the virus from creating mechanisms of resistance. The present invention falls within the field of pharmacy, notably where said compositions can be produced for HUMAN AND ANIMAL use in the following DOSAGE FORMS: ORAL in capsules, which can be hard, soft or gelatinous； tablets, which can be coated or uncoated, in the form of dragées, film-coated and also dispersible； syrups； solutions； suspensions； emulsions and gel solutions. INJECTABLES: ampoule, vial-ampoule, physiological and glucose saline. TOPICAL: ointment, cream, paste, powder and gel, and micro- and nanostructures can also be used.
