PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule which contains an organic ultraviolet absorber, can exhibit an ultraviolet absorption effect inherently possessed by the organic ultraviolet absorber when incorporated into a cosmetic, and does not cause leaking of the organic ultraviolet absorber into a cosmetic base over a long period of time.
SOLUTION: The microcapsule contains an organic ultraviolet absorber, and the shell of the microcapsule comprises poly(ethylene glycol dimethacrylate), an ethylene glycol dimethacrylate/divinylbenzene copolymer or poly(divinylbenzene), and the average particle diameter of the microcapsule is 0.4-10 &mum.
