PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biopsy system.SOLUTION: The biopsy system includes a control module 12, a localization assembly 15, a biopsy device 14 and a guiding cube 104. The biopsy device includes a holster portion 32 and a probe 91. The probe and/or other associated components are configured to selectively couple with the guiding cube configured to selectively couple with a grid plate 96 having apertures for receiving a targeting cube. The guiding cube includes a body defined by faces. The guiding cube also includes guide holes which provide passages through the guiding cube by originating and terminating at the faces and penetrating through the body of the guiding cube. The intersections of the faces of the guiding cube include edges constituted of an elastomeric material.
