The absorbent article can include a body facing liner, a back sheet bonded to the body facing liner, and an absorbent body. The absorbent article may also include a fluid acquisition layer. The fluid acquisition layer may comprise a plurality of openings and at least one channel. The channel may include length and depth. The length can be defined in a horizontal plane by the distance between the proximal and distal ends.
