The present invention relates to steroid hormone products, such as oralcontraceptive products, including at least onesteroid active ingredient mixed with an excipient and having improveddissolution and release rate properties. The invention furtherrelates to methods for making such steroid hormone products, wherein a mixtureof the hormone and the excipient is subjectedto sufficient mechanical energy to form a powder blend wherein the hormone isstabilized by the excipient in substantially non-crystalline form.
