A fishing spinning reel including: a pinion gear (8) having a rotor (2) fixed on an end of the pinion gear (8) and meshing with a drive gear (7) rotationally driven by rotational operation of a handle (5) rotatably supported on the reel body (1) a spool shaft (3a) inserted through the pinion gear (8) and having a spool (3) mounted on a front end thereof, the spool (3) holding a fishing line wound therearound and an oscillation mechanism (12) configured to reciprocate the spool shaft (3a) back and forth in accordance with drive of the drive gear (7), wherein the spool shaft (3a) is not supported at a region from a meshing region (W) between the drive gear (7) and the pinion gear (8) to a rear end of the spool shaft (3a) where the spool shaft (3a) is supported by a slidable body (15) of the oscillation mechanism (12).
