Disclosed is a liquid oral composition comprising: (A) cetylpyridinium chloride in an amount of 0.01 to 0.1 mass% (B) sodium lauroylsarcosine in an amount of 0.02 to 0.3 mass% and (C) a poly (oxyethylene) hydrogenated castor oil having an average molar number of ethylene oxide units added of 40 to 100 moles in such an amount that the [(a)/(b)] ratio becomes 0.3 to 3 by mass and the [(C)/((a)+(b))] ratio becomes 1.0 to 20 by mass. The liquid oral composition enables the rapid penetration of a bactericidal agent into a cariogenic biofilm to exhibit an excellent bactericidal activity ON a cariogenic bacterium, is reduced in the occurrence of lees or turbidness during the storage at a lower temperature, has good appearance stability and is effective for the prevention of dental caries.
