An artificial cage includes a cage mechanism and an adjusting mechanism disposed in the cage mechanism. The cage mechanism includes an upper plate and a lower plate connected to each other. The upper plate has a screw hole extending through a top surface and a bottom surface of the upper plate. The adjusting mechanism includes a screw rod that is rotatably and vertically disposed on the lower plate and that threadedly and fittingly engages the screw hole, a gear that meshes with the screw rod, and an inner adjusting rod that is co-axially and co-rotatably connected to the gear. The inner adjusting rod is operable to rotate for driving rotation of the gear to move the screw rod upward and downward , so as to drive the upper plate to move upward and downward together with the screw rod relative to the lower plate for adjustment of the height of the cage mechanism. The height of the cage mechanism is adjustable, thereby enabling the cage to be implanted into a targeted region between two vertebrae via posterior lumbar interbody fusion, and allowing an osteoinductive growth material to be filled into the cage according to a space available in the cage mechanism.
