The present invention relates to a power stick to lighten a load during work with the waist and to a control method of the power stick. The present invention is aimed at providing a power stick to lighten a load during work with the waist, which lightens a load applied to the waist or knee of a wearer with respect to work requiring the repetitive bending movement of the waist or knee, thereby allowing even the old and the infirm or disabled persons to perform the work requiring the repetitive bending movement of the waist or knee； and a control method of the power stick. The present invention provides a power stick to lighten a load during work with the waist and a control method of the power stick, wherein the power stick comprises an instrument unit consisting of a wearing part fixed to surround the upper body of a user and a stick part installed to be extended to the ground from the wearing part； and a control unit sensing the movement of the instrument unit according to change in the position of the user to determine the movement of the user and controlling the expansion of the stick part according to the result of determination.본 발명은 허리작업 부하경감을 위한 파워스틱 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것으로, 그 목적은 허리나 무릎의 반복적인 굽힘이 요구되는 작업에 대하여 착용자의 허리나 무릎에 가해지는 부하를 경감시켜 노약자나 신체부자유자도 허리나 무릎의 반복적인 굽힘이 요구되는 작업을 실시할 수 있도록 하는 허리작업 부하경감을 위한 파워스틱 및 그 제어방법을 제공함에 있다. 이를 위한 본 발명은 사용자의 상체를 감싸 고정되는 착용부와, 상기 착용부로부터 지면으로 연장되게 설치되는 스틱부로 이루어지는 기구부； 상기 사용자의 자세 변화에 따른 기구부의 움직임을 감지하여 사용자의 움직임을 판별하고, 판별된 결과에 따라 스틱부의 신축을 제어하는 제어부로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 허리작업 부하경감을 위한 파워스틱과 그 제어방법을 제공한다.
