PRODUCTION DE HYALURONAN A PARTIR DE PLANTES TRANSGENIQUES POUR LA SYNTHASE DE L'HYALURONAN, LA GLUTAMINE FRUCTOSE-6-PHOSPHATE AMIDOTRANSFERASE ET LA DESHYDROGENASE DE GLUCOSE DE DIPHOSPHATE D'URIDINE
The present invention relates to plant cells and plants which synthesize anincreased amount of hyaluronan, and to methods for preparing such plants, andalso to methods for preparing hyaluronan with the aid of these plant cells orplants. Here, plant cells or genetically modified plants according to theinvention have hyaluronan synthase activity and additionally an increasedglutamine:fructose 6-phosphate amidotransferase (GFAT) activity and anincreased UDP glucose dehydrogenase (UDP-GIc-DH) activity, compared to wild-type plant cells or wild-type plants. The present invention furthermorerelates to the use of plants having increased hyaluronan synthesis forpreparing hyaluronan and food or feedstuff containing hyaluronan.
