30Claims:1. A method comprising:obtaining a blood glucose reference sample measurement from a patient whilemonitoring a blood glucose level in said patient by processing signals from acontinuousblood glucose sensor; anddetermining a time for obtaining a subsequent blood glucose reference samplemeasurement from said patient based, at least in part, on an indicatorindicative of areliability of said continuous blood glucose sensor; andproviding an operator or attendant an option to extend the time for obtainingthesubsequent blood glucose reference sample measurement in response to aduration that anobserved blood glucose level of said patient has been in a target range.2. The method of claim 1, wherein the option to extend said time comprises anoption to extend the time for obtaining the subsequent blood glucose referencesamplemeasurement by a first time extension in response to the duration that theobserved bloodglucose level of said patient has been in the target range; andthe method further comprises providing the operator or attendant an option toextendthe time for obtaining another blood glucose reference sample measurementfollowing thesubsequent blood glucose reference sample measurement by a second timeextension longerin duration than said first time extension in response to an extended durationthat theobserved blood glucose level of said patient has been in the target range.3. An apparatus comprising:an interface to receive a blood glucose reference sample measurement from apatient;anda controller configured to:monitor a blood glucose level in said patient by processing signals from acontinuousblood glucose sensor; and31determine a time for obtaining a subsequent blood glucose reference samplemeasurement from said patient based, at least in part, on an indicatorindicative of areliability of said continuous blood glucose sensor; wherein said indicator isbased, at leastin
