An asymmetric wheelchair is disclosed having a forward wheel assembly with a forward wheel support on one side of the wheelchair leaving an opening for ease of access on the other side. The asymmetric wheelchair can, in some embodiments, be formed by connecting an asymmetric forward wheel support to the frame of an existing symmetric wheelchair.
