The present invention provides an OsDPU gene that increases resistance to drought stress and a transgenic rice plant in which the expression of the gene is decreased. OsDPU is a rice-specific E3 ligase protein, and transgenic plants with reduced transcription levels of the corresponding genes exhibit drought resistance. These OsDPU - expressing transgenic rice plants are expected to contribute to increased crop yields by increasing the survival rate of crops through improved tolerance to drought stress and will have a very high utility value as crops that respond to climate change.본 발명은 가뭄 스트레스에 대한 내성을 증가시키는 OsDPU 유전자 및 상기 유전자가 발현 저하된 형질전환 벼 식물체를 제공한다.
