A method of utilizing a nozzle assembly disclosed herein generally addresses a need to improve methods for utilizing structures for delivering a fluid. The method of utilizing a nozzle assembly (10) comprises the steps of: providing a nozzle member (14) having a stem portion and a central passage (80,94) defined by at least an inner side surface (76,92a) and an inner distal surface (92b)； assembling the nozzle assembly (10) by inserting a fluid atomizer (12) into the central passage (80,94) of the nozzle member (14)； and inserting a distal portion (GD) of a spray gun (G) into the central passage (80,94) of the nozzle member (14) for: firstly urging a distal surface (56) of the fluid atomizer (12) adjacent the inner distal surface (92b) of the nozzle member (14) then secondly flexing legs (34) of the fluid atomizer (12) in a radially-outward direction in response to an application of an axial force to a proximal surface (26) of the fluid atomizer (12) for radially engaging the legs (34a, 34b) with the inner side surface (92a) of the nozzle member (14)； and actuating the spray gun (G) for causing a fluid to travel from the spray gun (G), through the central passage (80,94) of the nozzle member (14)； atomizing the fluid as the fluid travels through the central passage (80,94) of the nozzle member (14)； and permitting the fluid to travel beyond the fluid atomizer (12) and out of the nozzle member (14) in an atomized spray pattern.
