Compositions for antagonistic melanin-concentrating hormone receptors, use of the composition to inhibit the binding of melanin-concentrating hormone to its receptor, and methods of inhibiting the binding of melanin-concentrating hormone to its receptor are provided. It was found that a specific cyclic dipeptide or a salt thereof has a melanin-concentrating hormone receptor antagonistic action.
