Provided is a radiation image detecting system that, when performing only charging, can be quickly charged by large current and that, when capturing an image, for example, is easy to handle and also does not cause image quality degradation. The radiation image detecting system comprises: a cassette-type radiation image detecting device (2) embedding a battery (28) for supplying power to each function unit and capable of being driven by the power supplied from the battery (28) a cradle (4) and a cable (5) enabling power to be supplied to the radiation image detecting device (2) from the outside and a charging control circuit (6) for controlling the charging of the battery (28). The radiation image detecting device (2) has a detecting-device-side connector unit (26) configured so as to be electrically connectable to each of the cradle (4) and the cable (5) and receiving power, and the charging of the battery (28) is possible both by connection using the cradle (4) and by connection using the cable (5). The charging control circuit (6) is configured so as to switch over the charging current between in the case of connection using the cradle (4) and in the case of connection using the cable (5).
