A ground working machine (10) and a method for operating such ground working machine (10) is disclosed. The ground working machine (10) comprising: a frame (14) a ground engaging wheel mounted to the frame (14) and movable between a raised position not engaging the ground and a working position engaging the ground, the ground engaging wheel, when in the working position, rotating about a wheel axis as the machine is moved over the ground an actuator (50) to move the ground engaging wheel between the raised and working positions. In order to improve planting efficiency it is proposed to provide a control system (70) including a sensor (52) to detect rotation of the ground engaging wheel, a controller receiving an input from the sensor (52), the controller operably connected to the actuator (50) to cause the actuator (50) to raise the ground engaging wheel when the sensor (52) detects that the ground engaging wheel is not rotating.
