The present invention provides a method for prominently inhibiting theproductionin fungi of mycotoxin, which has serious effects on health of humans and otheranimals,and provides a mycotoxin production inhibitor. Mycotoxin content such asdeoxinivalenol (DON) in harvested crops can be reduced without a correlationwith thecontrol effects against fungi by spraying a fungicide containing abenzimidazole-typefungicidal compound such as thiophanate-methyl as an active ingredient ontofoodcrops such as wheat, barley, and the like. Concomitant use of thebenzimidazole-typefungicidal compound and a sterol biosinthesis inhibitor (SBI agent) such astebuconazole can further enhance the effect.
