A casket comprises a casket shell adapted to receive the remains of a deceasedandhaving a pair of side walls, a pair of end walls, and a bottom wall, a casketcap closable onthe casket shell, the cap including a dish assembly mounted to an undersidethereof, thedish assembly including a cap panel, the cap panel comprising a sheet ofmagnetic material,and at least one medallion removably mounted on the cap panel, the medallionhaving atleast one of text and graphics representing a life aspect of the deceased. Themedallioncomprises a medallion blank having at least one magnet on a rear side thereofand having arecess on a front side thereof, and a button removably received in the recessof themedallion blank, the button comprising a button front, a magnetic metallicbutton back, anda two-dimensional image overlying an upper surface of the button front, the atleast onemagnet removably securing the medallion blank to the magnetic material of thecap panel,the at least one magnet removably securing the button in the recess of themedallion blank.
