PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an appropriate calibration process.
SOLUTION: A detection ECU 10 controls to display a target to be watched by the driver on a virtual image screen ahead of the driver by a head-up display (HUD) 30, and detects the visual line direction of the driver based on an image taken by a camera 20 in that state. Then, it executes a calibration process for visual line direction detection based on the detected visual line direction and a displayed target position. By displaying the target ahead to be watched by the driver, the taken image of the driver in a desired visual line direction can be easily and correctly obtained, thus attaining an appropriate calibration process.
