The invention relates to a surgical cutting device comprising a traction/push element (2) which is guided into a bushing (1) and which is used to transfer a traction/pushing force from an actuation device (3), which is arranged ON one end of the bushing (1), to a loop (4), which is arranged ON the other end of the bushing and in order to arrange the loop (4) in a storage position and wherein the loop (4) lies in an extended position in the bushing (1), in a user position and wherein the loop (4) lies in the expanded opening (5) in front of the bushing (1), and back to the original position. The loop (4) is formed by two V-shaped expansion limbs (6) in the user position and partially in and in front of the bushing (1), which are resistant to bending at least in the direction which is transversal in relation to the opening plane (5) as a loop arc (7) which can be connected to the respective free ends (61) of the expansion limb (6), in order to improve the handling of the surgical cutting device.
