For said purpose, an ultrasound transmitter-receiver unit and an optical transmitter-receiver unit are stowed in the imaging core at the tip of the catheter. While the back end of the catheter has electrodes for electrically connecting to the ultrasound transmitter-receiver unit, the back end has a connector shape for connecting to the MDU of an optical coherence image diagnostic device, making it possible for the catheter to function as such as a catheter for an optical coherence image diagnostic device.
