The invention relates to a non-therapeutic zootechnical method according to which a composition containing at least one constituent having larvicide properties targeting the larvae of a pest-type flying insect in the surroundings of an animal is orally administered to said animal, the at least one constituent being fully or partially eliminated as is in the excrement of the animal.
