A teething device comprising a body portion 3 and a head portion 5 extending from the body portion, with a plurality of nodules 11 projecting from a surface 9 of the head portion 5. The plurality of nodules may be arranged in a plurality of rows, with the distance between two nodules being less than their diameter, and the height of the nodule being no more than twice their diameter. The body may be elongate with at least one handle member 13 extending outwards from the body, or alternatively a pair of handles 13, 19. The device may be formed in the shape of an animal. The device may be used to apply teething medication such as gels or powders or as a training tooth brush for young children.
