The present invention relates to a mammography apparatus of photographing breasts using X-rays and a method of photographing an object using the same. According to the present invention, the mammography apparatus includes: a generator which emits an X-ray beam； a detector which faces the generator； a pressure pad which moves between the generator and the detector and pressurizes the object； a bio index determination part which determines the bio index of a testee； and a controller which controls the moving distance and velocity of the pressure pad based on the bio index determined by the bio index determination part.본 발명은 유방을 엑스레이 촬영하는 맘모그래피 장치 및 이를 이용한 피검체 촬영 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 엑스레이를 조사하는 제너레이터； 상기 제너레이터와 대면하는 디텍터； 상기 제너레이터와 디텍터 사이를 이동하여 피검체를 압박하는 압박 패드； 피검자의 생체지수를 판단하는 생체지수 판단부； 및 상기 생체지수 판단부에서 판단된 생체지수를 기초로 상기 압박 패드의 이동 거리 및 속도를 제어하는 컨트롤러를 포함하는 맘모그래피 장치가 제공된다.
