PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly obtain a stroboscope image even in an electronic endoscope using a rolling shutter.SOLUTION: A light guide 21 of an electronic scope 11 is connected to a light source part 22 of a processor device 12, and an endoscope image is photographed with an imaging element (CMOS) 15 by using illumination light from the light source part 22. The light source part 22 is made to perform stroboscopic light emission on the basis of a sound waveform obtained with a microphone 28 in a sound observation mode (stroboscopic photography mode), image reading from the imaging element 15 is limited only to an image of a prescribed area with a vocal cord as a center, and the number of reading lines is reduced. Thus, an image reading period in the rolling shutter is shortened, and a stroboscopic light emission period is prevented from being overlapped on the image reading period.
