PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorization filter reducing the amount of precious metals used and having high heat resistance and durability.SOLUTION: A deodorization filter reduces the amount of precious metals used because a part of the amount of odorant molecules decomposed originally by Pt and/or Pd is charged instead by the decomposition action of Mg oxide by causing a catalyst containing Mn oxide and Mg oxide to be supported in a metal- or ceramic-made support. Mg oxide improves the dispersibility and homogeneity of a supporting liquid in the form of a slurry formed by catalyst supporting processing, catalyst particles of Pt and/or Pd and catalyst particles of Mn oxide are coagulated at high temperatures, suppressing sintering with particle growth and thereby improving the heat resistance of the deodorization filter. In addition, since Mg oxide improves the dispersibility and homogeneity of the supporting liquid, the deodorization initial performance and deodorization durable performance are also improved owing to uniformity of the deodorization performance of the deodorization filter.
