In a first embodiment, the present invention includesan instrument for use in preparing a femur for soft tissue repairor reconstruction, including a cannulated, curved guide toolhaving a cannulated body extending to a distal tip and a planedefined by a longitudinal axis of the cannulated body and distaltip and a flange secured to the distal tip and extending fromthe distal tip in a direction transverse from the distal tip, theflange having a first curve along at least a portion of theflange and a degree of tilt, relative to the plane, along atleast a portion of the flange. In an alternate embodiment, thepresent invention may also include a method of preparing a bonefor reattachment of soft tissue thereto, including visualizing areattachment site selecting a guide tool from a plurality ofcannulated curved guide tools, each of the plurality of guidetools having a distal tip that includes a flange directing thedistal tip of the selected guide tool towards the reattachmentsite and placing the flange against the surrounding anatomy suchthat the distal tip is on the reattachment site.
