The present invention relates to a lift and transport assembly for a disabled person and a method for lifting and transporting a disabled person. One embodiment of the invention relates to a lift and transport assembly, which can be integrated with other devices such as a rolling transportation device, lift, hoist, etc. The assembly comprises a lower section comprising a footrest for supporting the feet of the person and a lower bara mid section being connected to the lower bar at a first pivot arrangement an upper section connected to the mid section at a second pivot arrangement and adapted to the torso and shoulder part of the person and configured to be releasably engaged with a hoist and means for attaching a backrest for supporting the back of the person. The invention further relates to a mobility device and a method for transporting a disabled person.
