An apparatus and method for performing ophthalmic laser surgery is provided. The apparatus includes a laser engine configured to deliver a laser pulse to a patients eye, including a three-port isolator and a collimator attached to the three-port isolator. The collimator includes a collimating lens positioned adjacent to the three-port isolator and a fiber configured to receive laser light energy and provide laser light energy to the collimating lens and three-port isolator in a desired orientation.
