Die Erfindung betrifft eine implantierbare Nervenelektrode (1), welche ein elektrisch isolierendes Substrat (2) mit darin verlaufenden Leiterbahnen (3), Elektrodenkontakten (4) und Anschlusskontakten (5) aufweist, wobei die Leiterbahnen (3) die Elektrodenkontakte (4) mit den Anschlusskontakten (5) verbinden, und wobei die Elektrodenkontakte (4) mit Nerven eines Nervensystems verbindbar sind, wobei jede der Leiterbahnen (3) eine zumindest teilweise Ummantelung (13) aus einem mechanisch festen und elektrisch gut isolierenden Polymer aufweist.
