PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for using an absorption assist material for promoting the absorption of carbon dioxide from a body surface in a carbon dioxide external administration device.SOLUTION: The carbon dioxide external administration device includes a sealing enclosure member 2 capable of sealing a body surface from an outside air, and a supply device 3 for supplying carbon dioxide to the inside of the sealing enclosure member, and an absorption assist material 25 includes a carbon dioxide dissolution medium for assisting percutaneous transmucosal absorption of carbon dioxide inside the sealing enclosure member. A using method includes an application step of adhering the absorption assist material to a skin mucosa so as to form a layer containing the carbon dioxide dissolution medium on the skin mucosa, and an adjustment step of adjusting the use amount of the carbon dioxide dissolution medium in the absorption assist material so as to prevent the carbon dioxide dissolution medium from vaporizing or evaporating due to skin temperature to disappear from on the skin mucosa while the carbon dioxide is absorbed before the application step.【課題】二酸化炭素外用投与装置において、体表面からの二酸化炭素の吸収を促進する吸収補助材を、使用する方法を、提供すること。【解決手段】二酸化炭素外用投与装置は、体表面を外気から密閉することができる密閉包囲材２と、密閉包囲材の内部に二酸化炭素を供給するための供給装置３と、を備えており、吸収補助材２５が、密閉包囲材の内部で二酸化炭素の経皮経粘膜吸収を助けるための二酸化炭素溶解媒体を、含んでいる。そして、使用方法は、二酸化炭素溶解媒体を含む層を体表面の皮膚粘膜上に形成するように、吸収補助材を皮膚粘膜に密着させる、適用工程を、含んでおり、吸収補助材における二酸化炭素溶解媒体の使用量を、二酸化炭素溶解媒体が、二酸化炭素が吸収されている間に、皮膚温によって気化又は蒸発して皮膚粘膜上から消失する、のを防ぐように、調節する、調節工程を、前記適用工程より前に、含んでいる。【選択図】図３
