A medical implant for osteosynthesis wherein the implant has a first configuration when it is releasably attached to a delivery device and at least a second configuration when it is released from the delivery device. The second configuration generating forces in more than one direction when the implant is implanted in two or more than two bone segments. The implant may have second and third configurations wherein each configuration generates forces in the same or different directions. The implant may be adapted to compress, distract and or control spacial orientation of the bone segments relative to one another. L'implant peut avoir des deuxième et troisième configurations, chaque configuration produisant des forces dans la même direction ou dans des directions différentes. L'implant peut être conçu pour comprimer, modifier et ou commander une orientation spatiale des segments osseux l'un par rapport à l'autre. L'implant peut être conditionné dans un kit avec des outils destinés à faciliter l'implantation par chirurgie.
