A method for supplying power from a contactless inductive power source (305) to at least one remote device (338), said method comprising: providing power to a power source, the power source having a rail tension; providing a resonant circuit having a variable resonant frequency, the resonant circuit that includes a primary winding (314) configured to transfer power to at least one remote device; supply power from the power supply to the resonant circuit using an inverter, the inverter that has an operating frequency and a duty cycle; receiving, at a transceiver (336) located at the source (305) of inductive power, a remote device ID from said at least one remote device (338), and power requirement information from said at least one remote device; maintaining, using a controller with, an active remote device list including the power requirement ID and information, wherein maintaining said active remote device list includes updating said active remote device list in response to at least one of, a change in the state of said remote device (338) and a change in the presence of said remote device (338); determining the configurations of the inductive power supply of the rail voltage, the resonant frequency or the duty cycle in response to the determination that said inductive power supply (305) can be configured to power all the remote devices in said list of active remote device using said energy requirement information; and configuring said inductive power supply and said resonant circuit to supply power to all remote devices in said active remote device list based on said inductive power supply configurations.Un método para suministrar energía desde una fuente (305) de alimentación inductiva sin contacto a al menos un dispositivo (338) remoto, dicho método que comprende: proporcionar energía a una fuente de alimentación, la fuente de alimentación que tiene una tensión de riel; proporcionar un circuito resonante que tiene una frecuencia resonante variable, el circuito
