It provides a novel delivery system for drugs, particularly macromolecules such as proteins or oligonucleotides, in particular siRNA delivery through biological membranes. This delivery system involves the conjugation of a macromolecular drug to a moiety that allows effective passage through the membrane. New compounds and pharmaceutical compositions are provided that each utilize the delivery system. In one aspect of the invention, the compounds can be used in medical practices for the treatment of medical disorders, such as delivery of siRNA or antisense oligonucleotides across biological membranes.
