The roof rod (6) is fixed into position next to the gutter (5) by securing a second gutter strip (21) to the latter. The rod is held in a space cut out of the gutter strips. The second strip is secured to the gutter by attaching it to the first strip so that it extends in the gutter length direction. A roof support structure is provided, comprising a support structure for gutters which extends in a length direction and a ridge which also extends in the length direction. A gutter is secured to the structure, then a first gutter strip extending in the length direction is secured to the gutter and a rod is fitted between the gutter and ridge so that it rests on top of both of them.
