In a preferred embodiment the fodder mixer is arranged to mix at least three types of food stuffs, namely grain (either cracked or uncracked), broken fodder mats and hay. In a preferred embodiment the fodder mixer has a chute for receiving fodder mats which includes opposed shafts fitted with stellate members that cooperate to forcibly urge the mats towards a rotary chopper for subsequent delivery into a mixing bin.
