PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect trap capable of trapping a large amount of insects without lowering insect trapping efficiency while using a user-friendly structure.SOLUTION: The insect trap 1 is provided with an insect trapping lamp 2 as an attraction source for attracting insects 10, a pair of pressing plates 3 having a relatively variable gap between the plates and pressing the insect 10 attracted by the lamp 2, a driving mechanism 4 to squeeze the pressing plates 3, and an insect recovery part 5 to recover the insect 10 pressed with the pressing plates 3. The pressing plates 3 press the insect 10 attracted by the light of the trapping lamp 2 and entered between the pressing faces 31 to kill or weaken the insect. Thereafter, the pressing plates 3 are opened and the trapped insect 10 is collected in an insect recovery part 5.
