A spool access mechanism of a dual-bearing reel includes a frame, a spool support portion, a first side cover and a cover opening/closing portion. The frame includes an opening portion. The frame is formed in a substantially circular shape. The spool support portion is mounted to an interior of the frame. The spool support portion supports a spool in a rotatable state. The first side cover is allowed to be disposed in the opening portion of the frame. The cover opening and closing portion is disposed between the spool and the first side cover in the interior of the frame. The cover opening and closing portion is engaged with the spool support portion and the first side cover, and opens and closes the first side cover.
