A method of blood flow monitoring for a patient, the method comprising the steps of: a) receiving a first signal indicative of the real time cardiac output for the patient b) processing the continuous wave Doppler signal to provide an estimate of blood flow velocity as a function of time c) receiving a pressure measurement indicative of the blood flow resistance through the patient and d) calculating an Inotropy measure indicative of the potential and kinetic energy of the cardiac output of the patient.La présente invention concerne un procédé de surveillance de la circulation sanguine chez un patient, le procédé comprenant les étapes de : a) réception dun premier signal indiquant le débit cardiaque du patient en temps réel b) le traitement du signal Doppler à onde continue pour fournir une estimation de la vitesse de la circulation sanguine en fonction du temps c) la réception dune mesure de pression indiquant la résistance à la circulation sanguine chez le patient et d) le calcul dune mesure de linotropie indiquant lénergie potentielle et cinétique du débit cardiaque du patient.
