The present invention provides to a method for enhancing the productivity of a plant by genetically modifying the genome of the plant to over-express at least one autophagy-related (ATG) protein selected from the group consisting of ATG5 and ATG7. The invention further provides a genetically modified plant characterized by over-expression of least one autophagy related (ATG) protein selected from the group consisting of ATG5 and ATG7.Additionally the use of a transgene encoding atleast one autophagy related (ATG) protein selected from the group consisting of ATG5 and ATG7for enhancing the productivity of a plantis disclosed.La présente invention concerne un procédé pour améliorer la productivité d'une plante par modification génétique du génome de la plante afin qu'elle surexprime au moins une protéine liée à l'autophagie (ATG) choisie dans le groupe constitué par ATG5 et ATG7. L'invention concerne en outre une plante génétiquement modifiée caractérisée par une surexpression d'au moins une protéine liée à l'autophagie (ATG) choisie dans le groupe constitué par ATG5 et ATG7. De plus, l'utilisation d'un transgène codant pour au moins une protéine liée à l'autophagie (ATG) choisie dans le groupe constitué par ATG5 et ATG7 pour améliorer la productivité d'une plante est décrite.
